Questions:

  • All clarification questions should go to blackboard

Special Requests:

  • All requests should be done within 48 hours after the material was returned.
  • in writing, via e-mail to the TA that graded that homework, specifying all of the items below:
    1. the question under dispute (e.g., "HW1, Question 1(a)")
    2. the number of requested points (e.g., "3 extra points")
    3. and your justification for the request (e.g., "I followed the algorithm of p.1234 from the textbook")

Plagiarism Policy - IMPORTANT

  • All homeworks are to be done individually. Apologies for repeating the obvious, but in short, whatever you deliver, should be your own work.
  • Students are allowed to discuss about homework questions with others.
  • Students are not allowed to copy the contents of a white-board after a group meeting with other students.
  • Students are not allowed to copy the solutions from another colleague.

Late Policy

  • The homework assignment due date and time is the one that is posted on the web.
  • Slip days: Each person has an automatic extension of 4 calendar days - no questions asked. You can use the extension on any assignment(s) remaining during the semester. For instance, you can hand in one assignment 4 days late, or each of four assignments 1 day late.
    • Late days are rounded up to the nearest integer. For example, a submission that is 4 hours late will count as one day late.
    • When you hand in a late assignment, you must identify at the top of the assignment, (i) how late this assignment is, and (ii) how much of the total slip time you have left.
    • After you have used up your slip time, any assignment handed in late will be marked off 25% per day. That is, after 4 days, the grade will be zero.
  • In extreme circumstances, like medical emergencies, etc.: no-penalty extensions will be granted. Bring written documentation, like doctor's note.
